João Aroso scores first win for South Korea
The team secured a 3-1 victory over Oman in the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup
After the draw with Palestine (0-0), João Aroso secured his first victory as assistant coach of South Korea , beating the Oman national team 3-1, in an Asian qualifying match for the World Cup.
Hee-Chan Hwang opened the scoring in the 10th minute, Oman still equalised thanks to an own goal from Seung-hyun Jung (45+2′), however the South Korean team would confirm the victory through Son Heung-min (82′) and Min-kyu Joo (90+11′).
The victory allows South Korea to share the lead in Group B of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup with Jordan (four points).
