Manchester United announce departure of Eriksen and two other players

Manchester United’s poor season is starting to have an impact on the squad. The club has announced that it will not renew the contracts of three players: Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans. The trio said goodbye to the fans in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa, in the last round of the Premier League.

Eriksen has been at United for three years and has played 107 games, scoring eight goals. He even scored one on Sunday. Lindelof, 30, has been at the club for eight seasons and has made 283 appearances, while Evans, a United youth product, has made 240 appearances and was in his second spell at the club.

Manchester United had one of their worst seasons in history. They finished the Premier League in 15th place, with just 42 points. Last week, they also finished second in the Europa League, being defeated by Tottenham .

The team’s coach, Portuguese Ruben Amorim, did not confirm his permanence . The coach arrived in the middle of the season, exchanging Sporting for Manchester United.
