Shakhtar Donetsk beats rivals Dynamo Kiev and wins the Ukrainian Cup
The striker trained at Fluminense scored the equalizer in a Brazilian play with a pass from Alisson and, on penalties, Shakhtar won the title against Dynamo Kiev

Shakhtar Donetsk won the Ukrainian Cup against Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday. After a 1-1 draw in regular time, the team defeated their biggest rivals on penalties to claim their 15th title in the competition. Former Fluminense player Kauã Elias scored the equalizer that took the match to penalties.
With a long list of Brazilians in the squad, Shakhtar relied on some of them to secure the title. The team fell behind on the scoreboard, losing the first half 1-0. Kauã Elias and Alisson, formerly of Atlético-MG, came off the bench to score a Brazilian equalizer in the 19th minute of the second half.
A product of the youth ranks of the Tricolor das Laranjeiras, the striker arrived at the Ukrainian club in February. In the final, he scored his second goal for the team in the eleven matches played. Meanwhile, Alisson arrived the following month and, after having a heroic moment with the goal that qualified the team for the final, lifted his third trophy of the year.
– It’s hard to believe that everything I dreamed of one day is coming true. Third title in 2025: one with the national team, another with Galo and now with Shakhtar, in a classic… each one more special than the last! I’m so happy to have been able to contribute well in these two games with a goal, an assist and for having converted the penalty in the final as well, because this is the practical result of my work on and off the field. This year I’m creating memories that I’ll never forget in my life! But we’ll always go for more! I’m a guy driven by challenges and, for me, achieving a goal automatically means setting a bigger one – said Alisson after the title.
The team came into the derby under a lot of pressure as they were far from the fight for the main titles of the season. The team was eliminated in the group stage of the Champions League and saw their opponents open up a big lead at the top of the Ukrainian Championship.
With no chance in either competition, the cup was all that was left to secure a title this season and dominance in the championship. If they won, Dynamo would be one win away from equaling the number of cup trophies won by Shakhtar, further intensifying the country’s biggest rivalry.
