Jorge Mendes guarantees renewal and says: “Yamal will win the Ballon d’Or”
The Portuguese agent had lunch with the 17-year-old and told the Spanish press that it is only a matter of time before he extends his contract with Barcelona
Barcelona continues to work with Jorge Mendes to renew Lamine Yamal ‘s contract and this Thursday, during lunchtime, there was a new meeting at the La Bonaigua restaurant, in Sant Just Desvern, between the agent and his athlete.
Upon leaving the restaurant, the Portuguese spoke briefly to the Spanish press and assured that the future of the youngster, who is just 17 years old, is in Catalonia and that it is only a matter of time before he extends his contract with the club, which ends next season.
“Of course he will renew, there will be no problem. He is happy. He will renew soon, don’t worry. He is the best player in the world and he will win the Ballon d’Or,” said Mendes, having been asked about whether the forward will become the highest paid player in the squad.
“Everyone knows that Lamine is the only player who can win the Ballon d’Or. The difference between him and the others is huge. I’m not the one saying it, but everyone and Barça know it too,” he explained, dodging the question.
