Theo Hernández could be set for a sensational return to Italian football. The former AC Milan left-back, now playing for Al-Hilal, is reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Juventus ahead of a potential move in 2026.

Despite joining the Saudi club at the beginning of the season, Hernández has struggled to settle in the Middle East. While Al-Hilal paid a significant fee to secure his services, the French international is understood to be open to returning to Europe, with Serie A once again emerging as his preferred destination.

Is Theo Hernández set for a return to Serie A?

Theo Hernández left Milan despite expressing a desire to remain at the club, as the Rossoneri hierarchy opted to capitalize on his market value. However, the defender’s time in Saudi Arabia has not gone as planned, and he is now actively considering a move back to elite European football.

Juventus have emerged as the strongest candidate to sign the left-back. The Turin giants have been in contact with Hernández’s representatives and are increasingly confident of reaching an agreement with the player.

Juventus advance talks with Theo Hernández

According to journalist Carlo Pellegatti, Theo Hernández is close to a personal agreement with Juventus. The player is enthusiastic about the project and is eager to finalize terms with the Bianconeri as soon as possible.

Negotiations between Juventus and the player’s camp have been ongoing for several weeks and are believed to be at an advanced stage. The expectation is that the deal could be pushed forward at the opening of the next transfer window.

Juventus have already informed Al-Hilal of their interest, and there is optimism that the Saudi club will not stand in the way should a suitable proposal arrive.

Deal with Al-Hilal still unresolved

While Juventus and Theo Hernández are close to an agreement, a deal with Al-Hilal has yet to be finalized. The Italian club has not formally submitted an offer and is still weighing up whether to pursue a permanent transfer or a loan deal.

The coming weeks are expected to be decisive, as Juventus assess the financial framework of the operation and Al-Hilal determine their stance on allowing one of their marquee signings to leave.

If completed, the move would mark a controversial return to Serie A for Hernández this time wearing the shirt of Milan’s historic rivals.
