Napoli maintain perfect start with 3-1 win over Fiorentina

Napoli extended their unbeaten start to the Serie A season with a commanding 3-1 victory at Fiorentina, equaling Juventus at the top of the table.
The Italian champions responded with authority following Juventus’ dramatic 4-3 win over Inter Milan, now sharing nine points at the summit of Serie A after three rounds.
Napoli Explodes Early With Two Quick Goals
Napoli set the tone early at the Artemio Franchi Stadium, scoring twice in the first 15 minutes:
- 6th minute – Kevin De Bruyne converted a penalty after Pietro Comuzzo fouled a Napoli attacker.
- 14th minute – Danish striker Rasmus Højlund, on loan from Manchester United, scored on his Napoli debut. Leonardo Spinazzola provided a precise assist, allowing Højlund to beat the Fiorentina defense.
Beukema Adds Third to Seal Victory
The win was effectively secured early in the second half. In the 51st minute, after a corner, André-Frank Anguissa set up Sam Beukema, who scored his first goal for Napoli, giving the visitors a 3-0 lead.
Fiorentina Pull One Back But Fall Short
Fiorentina pulled a late goal back in the 79th minute through Luca Ranieri, but it was too little too late. The hosts remain winless this season with just two points, sitting 13th in Serie A.
Napoli and Serie A Standings
Napoli now leads Serie A alongside Juventus, both on nine points, while Cremonese and Roma, who have yet to play their third-round matches, occupy third and fourth with six points.
