Dortmund defeats Heidenheim in Bundesliga third round final

Borussia Dortmund secured a 2-0 win at Heidenheim, taking advantage of an early red card and resolving the match in the first half, while several other Bundesliga fixtures delivered excitement on Saturday.

Dortmund Takes Advantage Early
Dortmund visited newly promoted FC Heidenheim 1846, who had yet to win this season. The home side was reduced to 10 men in the 21st minute when Budu Zivzivadze received a red card.
Capitalizing on the numerical advantage:
- 33rd minute – Julian Ryerson’s cross from a Yan Couto pass found Serhou Guirassy, who headed home.
- 45+1 minute – Karim Adeyemi beat the goalkeeper and set up Maximilian Beier, who finished to make it 2-0 at halftime.
Heidenheim’s only chance in the second half came from Arijon Ibrahimovic, but goalkeeper Gregor Kobel made a key save to preserve the clean sheet.
