Palace’s marquee signing wasted three major opportunities to mark his debut with a goal.

- 35th minute – the clearest chance came when Daichi Kamada’s through ball left him one-on-one with goalkeeper Robin Roefs, but the winger dragged his shot off target.

Uche Also Debuts in Stalemate
Another new signing, Christantus Uche from Getafe, made his Palace debut in the 82nd minute. The forward nearly became the hero five minutes later, but his strike was well saved by Sunderland’s keeper Robin Roefs.
