Real Madrid targets Javi Guerra in possible Dani Ceballos swap
Real Madrid could move for a bold deal in the coming months, as club president Florentino Pérez and coach Xabi Alonso look to reshape the midfield. According to the Spanish press, Los Blancos are studying a swap involving Dani Ceballos and Valencia’s rising star Javi Guerra, one of the most promising talents in La Liga.
Ceballos Out of Xabi Alonso’s Plans
At 29, Dani Ceballos no longer figures in Real Madrid’s long-term sporting project. The midfielder was already close to joining Olympique de Marseille during the summer transfer window but chose to remain in Spain. Still, Alonso is unlikely to use him regularly in the 2025/26 season.
This opens the door to a potential departure, and a swap deal could be the formula to secure Javi Guerra without meeting Valencia’s full asking price.
Valencia Values Javi Guerra at €100 Million
Valencia has placed a €100 million price tag on Javi Guerra, who at 22 is seen as one of Spain’s most exciting midfielders. While the club is aware of Real Madrid’s interest, the board believes an outright sale would be financially more beneficial than a player exchange.
Even so, the possibility of including Ceballos—an experienced Spain international with La Liga pedigree—has been floated as part of negotiations.

Promoted to Valencia’s first team in the 2021/22 season, Javi Guerra quickly earned a reputation for his energy and vision in midfield. His performances have already attracted Manchester United, who monitored him closely in the last window.
Real Madrid now see him as a long-term replacement option in midfield, adding depth alongside Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Real Madrid Also Monitoring Michael Olise
While midfield remains a priority, Real Madrid’s radar isn’t limited to Javi Guerra. Michael Olise, one of Bayern Munich’s rising stars, has also entered the club’s plans. However, this deal could prove even more complex, as it may involve the uncertain contract situation of Vinícius Júnior, whose renewal with Los Blancos has yet to be finalized.
