England beat Andorra 2-0 as Harry Kane reaches historic milestone

Captain reaches 108 appearances and becomes fifth player with the most games for the Three Lions.
England secure victory in Qualifiers
England defeated Andorra 2-0 this Saturday (September 6) at Villa Park, in another step toward the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. The goals came from Declan Rice and an own goal by the visitors. Even without Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thomas Tuchel’s side controlled the match.
Kane makes history
Although Harry Kane didn’t score, the striker marked the night with a record-breaking milestone. The Bayern Munich forward reached 108 appearances for England, becoming the fifth player with the most games for the national team.
England’s all-time appearance leaders:
- Peter Shilton – 125 games
- Wayne Rooney – 120 games
- David Beckham – 115 games
- Steven Gerrard – 114 games
- Harry Kane – 108 games
At 32, Kane still has a strong chance of climbing this ranking in the coming years.
Legacy and quest for titles
Kane is already England’s all-time leading scorer, with 73 goals, ahead of Rooney’s 53. However, the striker is still chasing his first trophy with the national team, after finishing runner-up in the Euro 2021 against Italy.
What’s next
England return to action on Tuesday (September 9), facing Serbia away at the Rajko Mitic Stadium in Belgrade, continuing their journey in the World Cup Qualifiers.
