Arsenal have taken a bold step by registering 15-year-old attacking midfielder Max Dowman for the Champions League. The youngster, born in 2009, has already impressed Mikel Arteta’s coaching staff and made his professional debut, despite being unable to sign a full contract until 2026.

A Rising Talent at the Emirates

Dowman stood out during Arsenal’s preseason, quickly catching the eye of Arteta and his staff. His performances in training convinced the club to include him in the 23-man list submitted for the Champions League, giving him the chance to feature at the highest level of European football.

At just 15, Dowman is the second-youngest player ever to feature for Arsenal’s senior team. The Gunners are implementing special protocols to ensure his development and safety as he transitions from youth football.

Early Career and Debut Matches

Last season, Dowman already featured for Arsenal’s U-18, U-19, and U-21 squads, competing against older age groups with maturity beyond his years.

He made his professional debut in the Premier League against Leeds United, playing 26 minutes after replacing Noni Madueke. He also appeared briefly against Liverpool, stepping onto the pitch in the final moments of the clash.
