Milan officially signs Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen on loan with option to buy

AC Milan have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen. The 23-year-old arrives on loan for €5 million (R$31.8 million), with an option to buy set at €24 million (R$152.6 million), according to Fabrizio Romano.
Details of the deal
Boniface has already agreed to personal terms with the Rossoneri, with a potential contract valid until 2030 should Milan choose to activate the buyout clause. The next step will be medical examinations, after which the club will make the transfer official.
Numbers and profile
During his time at Bayer Leverkusen, Boniface scored 32 goals in 61 appearances, establishing himself as one of the most effective strikers in the Bundesliga. His performances have drawn attention across Europe, making him a key target for Milan’s attacking rebuild.
Strategic reinforcement
Milan’s management views the loan agreement as a low-risk, high-reward strategy: the club gains immediate reinforcement for Serie A while keeping flexibility over a permanent deal. Coach Massimiliano Allegri is expected to integrate Boniface quickly, adding depth and physical presence to the Rossoneri attack.
With the move, Milan continue their plan to strengthen the squad for the 2025/26 season, after a campaign that fell short of expectations.
