Jadon Sancho wants Roma move as Manchester United negotiate loan

Italian club pushing for loan with obligation to buy; winger not in Red Devils’ plans
Manchester United are working to finalize Jadon Sancho’s departure this summer, with the 25-year-old winger making it clear he wants to join AS Roma. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the deal under discussion would be a season-long loan with an obligation to buy under favorable conditions for the Italian club.
No Future Under Amorim
Sancho, who spent last season on loan at Chelsea, is not part of new manager Ruben Amorim’s plans and has been training separately from United’s main squad. His contract at Old Trafford runs until June 2026, but his high wages have complicated transfer negotiations.
High Salary a Key Factor
The England international earns around £350,000 per week (R$2.5 million), including a £250,000 base salary and £100,000 in bonuses. Over a season, that amounts to £18 million (R$113 million) a figure United are keen to move off their books.
Interest From Across Europe and Beyond
In recent transfer windows, Sancho has been linked with a host of clubs including Atlético de Madrid, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Brentford, West Ham, Bayer Leverkusen, Nottingham Forest, Fenerbahçe, and Saudi side Al-Hilal.
Last season at Chelsea, Sancho made 41 appearances starting 26 and contributed five goals and nine assists across all competitions.
Roma Ready to Offer Fresh Start
Roma see Sancho as a key addition to bolster their attack for the upcoming Serie A campaign. With talks ongoing, the deal could give the winger a much-needed fresh start after an unsettled spell in Manchester.
