Allan Saint-Maximin nears move to Club América amid growing transfer interest
French winger Allan Saint-Maximin is reportedly close to completing a transfer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli to Club América, in a move that could mark one of the biggest signings in Liga MX this summer.
According to international media reports, negotiations between the two clubs have progressed significantly, with América leading the race to secure the services of the 28-year-old forward. Saint-Maximin spent last season on loan at Fenerbahçe and is under contract with Al-Ahli until the end of the 2025 season.

A former Premier League standout with Newcastle United, Saint-Maximin rose to prominence with his pace and flair before moving to the Middle East in 2023. His current market value is estimated at €13 million, making him an attractive target for clubs looking to add elite-level experience without breaching financial limits.
Interest from Europe Persists
While Club América are reportedly in advanced talks, European clubs remain in the mix. Stade Rennais in France and Olympiacos in Greece have both expressed interest, though no formal bids have been confirmed. América, however, appear to be the most proactive, having reportedly entered direct talks with Al-Ahli over a permanent deal.

Despite growing speculation, Al-Ahli have yet to issue an official statement regarding Saint-Maximin’s future. The Saudi club is believed to be open to offers, especially as they recalibrate their foreign player quota ahead of the 2025 season.
