Real Madrid could surprise and close the deal with Camavinga to Manchester United

Real Madrid could part ways with Eduardo Camavinga in a surprise move during the summer transfer window, with Manchester United emerging as a potential destination for the French midfielder.
The 22-year-old is among three players Real Madrid is considering selling, alongside Rodrygo and Brahim Díaz, as the club seeks to recoup at least €200 million before the transfer window closes, following a €167.5 million spending spree.
Manchester United Targeting Midfield Reinforcement
Camavinga, who joined Real Madrid from Rennes in 2021, has long been on United’s radar and is being evaluated as part of manager Rúben Amorim’s squad rebuild. Sources close to Old Trafford suggest United are weighing whether to match Madrid’s €50 million asking price.
While the fee is considered steep by Premier League standards, internal discussions are ongoing at United about whether Camavinga could provide the physicality and versatility the midfield lacks.
Player Keen to Stay — But Open to Exit
Camavinga has expressed his desire to remain in Madrid, but he is also aware that the club may be looking to trim its squad and fund future deals. The midfielder does not want to risk falling further down the pecking order under Xabi Alonso, who is set to introduce tactical changes this season.
The French international appeared in just 35 matches during the 2023/24 campaign, scoring two goals and providing two assists. His limited availability was largely due to four separate injuries, which sidelined him for a total of 35 matches, including international fixtures.
Manchester City Also in the Race
In addition to United, Manchester City has reportedly shown interest in the former Ligue 1 star. City sees Camavinga as a possible successor to aging midfielders and appreciates his versatility, having played both as a defensive midfielder and left-back.
While no official bid has been tabled, Real Madrid is open to serious offers, and developments could accelerate in the final weeks of the transfer window.
