Marcelo Urges Real Madrid to Target Jamal Musiala and Désiré Doué

Former Merengue icon believes the young duo fits Xabi Alonso’s future vision

Marcelo, one of the most decorated legends in Real Madrid history, has suggested the Spanish giants pursue Jamal Musiala and Désiré Doué as part of their long-term squad evolution. Speaking publicly, the former left-back expressed admiration for the pair, calling them ideal reinforcements for a team entering a new era under Xabi Alonso.

“Which young players do I like to watch? I love Musiala, I love Doué,” Marcelo said, underlining his belief in their tactical compatibility with Real Madrid’s evolving system.

Merengue Board Eyes Future Stars

Marcelo’s remarks come as Real Madrid’s board continues to evaluate young talent capable of shaping the next generation. Both Musiala and Doué have attracted widespread attention across Europe and are viewed as potential marquee signings by several top clubs.

Musiala, currently sidelined with a fractured fibula suffered during the Club World Cup, remains a high-priority name in Madrid’s long-term scouting list. The 21-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder is expected to return to action early next season and is widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted players of his generation.

Doué Shines at PSG Despite Competition

Meanwhile, Désiré Doué, 19, has made significant strides at Paris Saint-Germain, showing flashes of brilliance throughout the 2024–25 campaign. Despite losing some starting opportunities late in the season, Doué is considered one of France’s most promising attacking midfielders, known for his refined technique and agility.

Marcelo’s Influence Still Resonates

Although no longer on the pitch, Marcelo continues to maintain a strong connection with the club. His suggestions are often taken seriously by those within the Bernabéu hierarchy, particularly when aligned with Real Madrid’s strategy of investing in youth and preparing for long-term dominance in La Liga and Europe.

The club has yet to make a formal approach for either player, but internal evaluations are ongoing, especially as Xabi Alonso prepares to reshape the midfield following injuries and upcoming squad transitions.
