Manchester United will earn £30m from Casemiro transfer

The Brazilian midfielder is set to join Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia as Manchester United offloads one of their top earners.

Manchester United are reportedly finalizing the sale of Casemiro to Al-Nassr, in a move that will see the Premier League club pocket £30 million (R$228 million). According to Saudi outlet Sports Jazirah and Sky United, the Brazilian midfielder has reached an agreement with the Riyadh-based club.

The transfer would end Casemiro’s two-year stint at Old Trafford and significantly ease United’s wage bill, making way for new arrivals this summer.

A Costly Exit – But a Financially Smart One?

United signed Casemiro from Real Madrid in August 2022 for a fee in the region of £60 million. Now 33 years old, the midfielder’s performances have declined, and with his current contract running until June 2026, the Red Devils were unlikely to recoup their original investment.

Still, the board reportedly views the sale as a strategic financial decision. Casemiro is the club’s highest earner, commanding £350,000 per week, or £1.4 million per month roughly R$10.6 million. Offloading him now would save the club £16.7 million in wages alone over the next 12 months.

Casemiro Set to Join Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia

Casemiro is expected to join a star-studded Al-Nassr squad led by Cristiano Ronaldo, reuniting with his former Real Madrid teammate. The Saudi Pro League side is reportedly prepared to offer Casemiro a lucrative salary package and a multi-year contract.

The transfer aligns with Al-Nassr’s ongoing push to become a continental powerhouse, with the Saudi PIF (Public Investment Fund) investing heavily in high-profile names.

What’s Next for Manchester United?

The funds generated from Casemiro’s departure both the transfer fee and the salary savings could now be reinvested into new signings. United are targeting offensive reinforcements, with names like Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting CP) and Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) on their radar.

While Casemiro was a key part of Erik ten Hag’s first season in charge, United’s midfield rebuild is underway, and the move signals a shift toward a younger, more dynamic core.
