Real Madrid misses penalty and draws with Al-Hilal in Club Cup debut

Real Madrid ‘s Club World Cup campaign began with a stumble . Playing at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, the team could only draw 1-1 with Al Hilal in the first round of Group H.
The main reason for the result was goalkeeper Bono, who saved a penalty taken by Valverde and secured a point for the Saudis in the clash with the Spanish giants.
Before that, Gonzalo García opened the scoring for Real Madrid, while João Neves equalised for Al Hilal
The two teams will play again next Sunday (22). While the Spanish team will face Pachuca at 4 pm (Brasília time), the Saudis will challenge Red Bull Salzburg at 7 pm (Brasília time).

But the disadvantage on the scoreboard did not discourage the Saudis. At 38, Marcos Leonardo fought the ball inside the area with Asencio and ended up being pulled. Penalty, which Rúben Neves sent into the corner and made everything equal.
In injury time, Salem Al-Dawsari still missed a good chance to turn the match around.
In the second half, Arda Guler, who had just come on, hit the post after a play by Vinicius Jr. Gonzalo headed the ball and Bono made a great save.
At 7 minutes, Marcos Leonardo had a great opportunity. Huijsen made a mistake and the ball fell to the Brazilian striker, who took a first-time shot and sent it wide. At 26 minutes, he had another good chance, but once again he missed the target.
The season passed and while the coaches were betting on changes, the level dropped significantly, also due to the heat in Miami.
And in the final minutes, Fran García was tackled by Al-Qahtani inside the area. After checking the play on VAR, the referee awarded a penalty, which Valverde took and Bono saved, giving the final score to the game.
