LeBron James on the Liverpool car crash: “What a senseless act.”
LeBron James , NBA star and minority owner of Liverpool , joined in the condolences to those affected by the attack in the English city that occurred this Monday during the Premier League celebrations .
“My deepest condolences and prayers go out to everyone affected today at the title celebration. What a senseless act ,” the Los Angeles Lakers player said via social media.
James has been a minority shareholder in Liverpool’s owners, FSG , since 2011 and has been present at Anfield on several occasions, showing his support for the club.

A 53-year-old British man was arrested on Monday after colliding with several pedestrians in central Liverpool (northwest England) during celebrations for the city’s eponymous football team’s league championship, Merseyside Police said in a statement.
A police spokesperson confirmed in a statement that the arrested man is a 53-year-old white man from the Liverpool area , and asked people “not to speculate about the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
“Extensive investigations are underway to establish the circumstances leading to the collision,” the Merseyside Police representative added.
Law enforcement officials reported on social media that a man had been arrested following a traffic accident in the center of the English city just after 6:00 p.m. local time (5:00 p.m. GMT) in which a car collided with “several pedestrians” on Water Street , near where Liverpool was holding its Premier League celebration parade.
