Santos wins first away game in the Brasileirão
Peixe counts on Guilherme’s goal to beat Rubro-Negro at Barradão

The game
Santos beat Vitória 1-0 in a match valid for the 10th round of the Brazilian Championship. The match on Sunday night was played at Barradão, in Salvador, and had a goal scored by Guilherme. Neymar came on in the second half without much prominence, but was part of what was Peixe’s first away win in the Brazilian Championship.
How does the table look?
The three points still do not take Santos out of the relegation zone, but they serve as a light at the end of the tunnel for Peixe, who are now in 18th place, with eight points. Alvinegro is right behind Vitória, who stopped at nine points and returned to the Z-4, in 17th place.
First half
Vitória and Santos played an eventful first half, with chances for both sides, but Santos were the only team to score. After missing an unbelievable goal, Guilherme redeemed himself by scoring a beautiful header in the 18th minute. Vitória had a chance to equalize soon after, but Renato Kayzer sent the ball wide with a header. The game continued with some good saves from Brazão to keep the visitors in the lead.
Second half
The second half was more tense and offered fewer clear goal chances. Even so, Brazão made some important saves. Neymar’s long-awaited introduction didn’t really move the game along. The number ten’s main move was a dangerous free kick that was saved by Lucas Arcanjo. In the end, the first-half goal was enough to decide the final score at Barradão: Vitória 0 x 1 Santos.
