Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson has addressed the growing speculation linking him with a summer move to Manchester United. The 23-year-old midfielder, who recently made his senior England debut, is high on INEOS’s shortlist as they prepare for a massive overhaul at Old Trafford.

With Casemiro confirmed to depart on June 30 and Christian Eriksen leaving as a free agent, United are scouting dynamic, homegrown talent to partner Kobbie Mainoo. Anderson, alongside Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, fits the “high-energy” profile demanded by Michael Carrick.

“Focusing on Forest”: Anderson Stays Grounded

Despite the allure of a move to the Theatre of Dreams, Anderson insists his immediate loyalty remains at the City Ground.

“I’m just focusing on my football at the moment and trying to give everything for Nottingham Forest,” Anderson told reporters. “I’ve matured on and off the pitch here, and I’m thankful to the club for giving me this platform.”

Since his move to Forest, Anderson has developed into one of the Premier League’s most consistent box-to-box operators, showing the “spirit and talent” that has caught the eye of United’s recruitment team.

Vitor Pereira’s Defiant Stance

The links to Old Trafford aren’t limited to Anderson, with Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White also reportedly under observation by United. However, new Forest head coach Vitor Pereira was quick to shut down exit talks in his first week on the job.

“I’m not hearing this [interest],” Pereira responded firmly. “Elliot and Morgan are top players with spirit. That’s why I accepted this job—because I have very good players. They are committed to our target.”

The “Audition” at Old Trafford

United fans won’t have to wait long to see Anderson in action. Nottingham Forest are scheduled to visit Old Trafford in May for the final home game of the season a match that many are already billing as a “live audition” for both Anderson and Gibbs-White.

With United currently sitting 4th and hunting for Champions League football, the ability to attract top domestic talent like Anderson will depend heavily on whether Carrick can maintain the club’s current momentum.
