
Real Madrid secured a solid 2-0 home victory over Sevilla on Saturday (10) in the 15th round of Liga F, extending their excellent run of form and remaining firmly in second place in the standings.
The win marked Real Madrid’s ninth victory in their last 10 league matches, reinforcing their status as Barcelona’s main challengers in the Spanish women’s title race, despite the leaders still holding a comfortable points advantage.
Strong first half decides the match
Although Sevilla created the first clear chances of the game, Real Madrid quickly took control and imposed their attacking rhythm. The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute, when Linda Caicedo opened the scoring after a well-worked move.
Just six minutes later, the hosts doubled their lead. Caroline Weir finished confidently in the 29th minute, following an assist from Athenea del Castillo, effectively deciding the match before halftime.
In the second half, Real Madrid managed the game calmly, maintaining possession and preventing Sevilla from mounting a comeback.
Liga F standings update
With the victory, Real Madrid now have 35 points from 15 matches, recording 11 wins so far this season and remaining in second place in Liga F.
Sevilla, meanwhile, stay in sixth position with 24 points, now seven points behind Real Sociedad, who currently occupy the final Women’s Champions League qualification spot.

Real Madrid return to action in the 16th round of Liga F on Tuesday (13), when they face Athletic Club away from home. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm (UK time).
