Barcelona considers new loan for Giulia Dragoni in the 2025/26 season

FC Barcelona Femení is considering sending Giulia Dragoni out on another loan for the 2025/26 season. The 18-year-old Italian forward, who spent last season at AS Roma, is not expected to be part of Jonatan Giráldez’s main plans this year.

Roma Loan and Injury Setback

Dragoni showed flashes of her potential during her spell in Rome, but her season was interrupted by an injury that sidelined her for several matches. Despite regaining fitness, the setback has reportedly influenced Barcelona’s decision to seek another loan to aid her development.

Roma remains an option for the teenager, though no formal discussions have been confirmed. Other potential destinations are also being explored.

Barcelona’s Squad Depth Limits Opportunities

With a stacked attacking lineup, Barcelona is unlikely to make further attacking signings this summer. The only significant change in the squad has come in defence, with Ingrid Engen departing for Olympique Lyonnais and Laia Aleixandri arriving as her replacement.

The Catalan giants see another loan as the best way for Dragoni to gain consistent minutes, given the fierce competition for attacking roles at the club.

Pre-Season Plans

Barcelona will first contest the Catalan Cup final on August 16 before embarking on a pre-season tour of Mexico from August 19 to 25. Their F League campaign kicks off at the end of the month.
