Manchester United have officially confirmed that teenage left-back Harry Amass has joined Championship side Norwich City on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
The 18-year-old moves to Carrow Road immediately following a highly productive stint at Sheffield Wednesday, where he registered one goal and one assist in 21 appearances. The deal, finalized this Saturday, is seen as the next crucial step in Amass’s development as he aims for a future spot in United’s first-team squad.
“Ready to Compete”: Norwich Director Hails Amass
Norwich City’s Sporting Director, Ben Knapper, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, noting that Amass’s performances in the first half of the season proved he is ready for the next level.
“Although he is still early in his professional career, his talent was evident. He showed he is ready to compete and excel at this level. He adds genuine quality to our defensive options,” Knapper stated.
The Director also hinted that Amass will challenge for a starting spot immediately, citing his fitness and “presence on the pitch” as key factors for the Canaries as they push for a promotion play-off spot.
From La Masia to the Championship?

While Amass originally hails from the Watford academy, his rise through Manchester United’s U18 and U21 ranks has been meteoric. After making several first-team matchday squads last season, the youngster is eager to prove his worth in the demanding environment of the Championship.
“I spoke with Ben and the manager; they like the way I handle the ball and my dedication,” Amass said. “This move is beneficial for both sides, and I’m ready to help Norwich climb the table.”
