Liverpool is reportedly preparing a €30 million (£26.2m) offer to sign Brazilian midfielder André from Wolverhampton Wanderers this January, as Arne Slot looks to bolster his midfield for the second half of the season.

According to reports from RTI Esporte and TEAMtalk, the Reds have reignited their interest in the former Fluminense star. André, who has been a standout performer despite Wolves’ disastrous campaign, is seen as a high-value tactical addition to the squad at Anfield.

Wolves in Freefall

The situation at Molineux is critical. Wolverhampton currently sits at the bottom of the Premier League table (20th place), having secured only one victory in 22 matches. With a 14-point gap to safety, the club faces a near-impossible task to avoid relegation, which may force them to sell their most valuable assets to balance the books.

Despite the team’s struggles, André’s individual stats remain impressive:

  • Passing Accuracy: 90%
  • Successful Tackles: 22 (in 21 PL appearances this season)
  • Minutes Played: Over 1,500 minutes as a regular starter.

While Liverpool is currently out of the title race, the club’s primary goal is to cement a Champions League spot for next season. Manager Arne Slot is keen on adding a “No. 6” with André’s profile someone who can dictate play from deep and provide defensive stability.

Liverpool previously tracked André during his time in Brazil, but the midfielder chose to stay at Fluminense to win the Copa Libertadores. Now, with Wolves staring at the Championship, the timing for a move to Merseyside seems perfect.
