Liverpool have moved ahead of Barcelona and several European giants in the race to sign Yan Diomande after the RB Leipzig star publicly expressed his desire to play at Anfield.

Considered one of the most promising young players in world football, the 19-year-old Ivorian winger is now prioritizing a move to Liverpool, leaving clubs such as Barcelona, PSG, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea trailing in the pursuit.

Yan Diomande Confirms Desire to Join Liverpool

During a live stream last Friday, Diomande openly revealed his dream of playing for Liverpool, citing both personal ambition and family influence.

“I want to play at Anfield, I want to play for Liverpool. I’m a big fan of the club. My father’s dream is to see me play for Liverpool,” said Diomande.

The statement significantly shifts the balance of the transfer saga, with the player’s camp now fully aligned with a move to Merseyside. The deal, however, still depends on Liverpool’s final decision and negotiations with RB Leipzig.

Barcelona and Hansi Flick Left Behind

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has identified Diomande as a top priority for next season and has made his interest clear internally. Despite this, the winger’s public stance puts the Catalan club at a disadvantage.

While Diomande’s comments do not completely rule out a move to Barcelona, Liverpool are now firmly in pole position in the race for the young star.

RB Leipzig Await Formal Offers

RB Leipzig are fully aware of the growing interest in Diomande and are prepared for a major bidding process. The Bundesliga club value the player at his €100 million release clause (approximately R$625 million), though they remain open to listening to structured offers below that figure.

Strong Numbers and Ideal Profile for the Premier League

Diomande has enjoyed an impressive season with Leipzig, recording seven goals and four assists in 16 appearances across all competitions.

Known for his explosive pace, dribbling ability, and one-on-one dominance, the winger fits the profile Liverpool are seeking following the high-profile departure of Luis Díaz to Bayern Munich.
