LONDON – Chelsea have reportedly slapped a monumental €220 million (£185m) price tag on midfielder Enzo Fernández, following intensifying interest from French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
According to reports from L’Equipe and Topskills Sport UK, the Argentine World Cup winner is being targeted by PSG boss Luis Enrique. While the midfielder has been a cornerstone of Chelsea’s project since his arrival, recent rumors suggest he could be open to a new challenge in Ligue 1.
Chelsea’s Hardball Stance
The Blues’ hierarchy is in no mood to lose their captain and midfield anchor. By demanding €220m, Chelsea is effectively asking for a fee that would rival Neymar’s 2017 world-record move. Having signed Enzo from Benfica for €121 million in 2023, the London club intends to make a massive profit if they are forced to part ways with the 24-year-old.
Enzo Fernández is currently under contract at Stamford Bridge until July 2032. This long-term deal gives Chelsea immense leverage in negotiations, making a January exit almost impossible unless PSG meets the “absurd” valuation.
Luis Enrique’s Priority

In Paris, Luis Enrique is said to be a “huge admirer” of Enzo’s vision and tactical discipline. PSG is looking for a marquee signing to lead their midfield into a new era, and the Argentine fits the profile perfectly. However, FFP (Financial Fair Play) regulations may prevent the Parisian club from matching Chelsea’s astronomical demands in the short term.
Despite the speculation, Enzo remains an “undisputed starter” and leader in the Chelsea dressing room. He has captained the side through a period of transition and remains vital to the club’s ambitions in the Premier League and Europe.
