Bayern Munich have officially confirmed the signing of Bernadette Amani, strengthening their women’s squad ahead of the second half of the season. The German champions moved quickly in the transfer market following recent departures and secured the Ivory Coast international from Spanish side Tenerife.
Bayern Move Quickly After Squad Changes
Bayern Munich’s women’s team has been active in the market after several key exits, most notably the departure of striker Lea Schüller, who joined Manchester United. In response, the Bavarian club accelerated negotiations and identified Amani as a key reinforcement for midfield depth and balance.
The 28-year-old arrives after a short but impactful spell at Tenerife, where she spent just six months before attracting interest from Germany.
Amani’s Career Path in Spain
Although born in Ivory Coast, Bernadette Amani built her entire professional career in Spain. She previously played for clubs such as Extremadura, Friol, Córdoba, and La Solana, before making her breakthrough at Dux Logroño.
Her consistent performances earned her a move to Eibar, where she spent two seasons, consolidating her reputation as a reliable and dynamic midfielder.
Ahead of the 2025/26 season, Amani joined Tenerife and quickly established herself as a regular starter. She made 14 appearances, scored one goal, and was considered one of the standout midfielders in the squad.
Player Reacts to Bayern Munich Transfer
Speaking after the announcement, Bernadette Amani described the move as a major milestone in her career and expressed gratitude to her former club.
“This is another step forward in my career, and I am very grateful to the club and my teammates for the opportunity, because I learned so much in these last few months,” Amani said.
“I leave as a better player and, above all, as a better person. I also thank the fans, because their support throughout the season has been incredible.”
