Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has made a bold claim regarding Victor Osimhen, stating that the Nigerian superstar would “100% accept” a move to Old Trafford if a formal offer were made.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand Presents, alongside former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan, the ex-defender discussed United’s urgent need for a clinical finisher. While Osimhen is currently spearheading the attack at Galatasaray, Ferdinand believes the allure of United’s history would be impossible for the striker to turn down.

“The Striker We Need”

During the conversation, Asamoah Gyan expressed his shock that Europe’s elite clubs allowed Osimhen to move to Turkey in the last window. “He plays with heart and gives his all. I’m surprised big clubs didn’t fight for him. I hope United tries, because he is the type of striker we need right now,” Gyan noted.

Ferdinand was even more emphatic about the potential transfer: “Osimhen will transfer to Manchester United if the club makes an offer. He’ll go 100%.”

While a blockbuster deal in the final days of the January window is seen as “nearly impossible,” the groundwork is reportedly being laid for the summer.

The Carrick Factor: Manager Michael Carrick has identified the striker position as a priority to complete his tactical setup.

Board Approval: Manchester United’s Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, is reportedly evaluating the financial feasibility of the move, with Osimhen sitting at the top of the club’s shortlist.

The arrival of Osimhen would be a statement of intent for the Red Devils, who are currently benefiting from the excellent form of Bryan Mbeumo on the flanks but still lack a world-class “number nine” to convert the chances being created.
