Manchester United makes signing Rúben Neves from Al-Hilal a priority

Manchester United have identified Rúben Neves as a top transfer target as they prepare for Casemiro’s departure in June 2026. The Portuguese midfielder, currently at Al-Hilal, is viewed as the ideal reinforcement for Old Trafford.

United Plan Ahead for Midfield Reinforcement

Despite heavy spending in the last Premier League transfer window, Manchester United did not secure all the reinforcements they wanted. The club has been monitoring midfielders such as Carlos Baleba, Angelo Stiller, and Adam Wharton, but none of them made the move to Old Trafford.

With Casemiro set to leave next summer, the Red Devils have now made Rúben Neves their priority, according to reports from Football Transfer.

Rúben Neves Has Premier League Experience

The 27-year-old midfielder is no stranger to English football, having played a central role during his successful spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers. His familiarity with the Premier League makes him a valuable option for manager Rúben Amorim, who has already approved the potential signing.

Al-Hilal Determined to Keep Their Star

Negotiations, however, will not be simple. Neves remains under contract with Al-Hilal until June 2026, and the Saudi club has no plans to release him early. That leaves Manchester United with two possibilities: attempt a transfer in January or wait to sign the player on a pre-contract agreement for next season.

Neves Holds the Key to His Future

The final decision may rest with Neves himself. Even if he chooses not to extend his deal with Al-Hilal, the midfielder has strong interest in Saudi Arabia and could opt to remain in the Middle East.
