Cameroon will face Cape Verde this Tuesday (September 9) in the 8th round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, and one of the most talked-about names in the squad is Vincent Aboubakar. The veteran striker, 33, currently a free agent after leaving Hatayspor in Turkey, has emerged as a target for São Paulo, which has reportedly made the first approach, according to ESPN.
A stalwart for the Cameroonian national team, Aboubakar often wears the captain’s armband and remains a key starter in the attack. His European career includes stints at FC Porto, Lorient, and Beşiktaş, where he consistently demonstrated goal-scoring ability and leadership on the field.
