Carvajal admits he dreams of having Rodri as a teammate at Real Madrid and is rooting for the signing

Dani Carvajal has openly admitted he dreams of sharing the pitch with Rodri at Real Madrid, as the Spanish giants continue to monitor the Manchester City midfielder for future transfer windows.
Carvajal Pushes for Rodri’s Arrival
Speaking to Madrid Xtra, the Real Madrid captain praised his international teammate:
“Rodri? I hope he can sign for Real Madrid in the future. He’s a great player,” Carvajal said, making clear his wish to see the Manchester City star in white.
The full-back’s statement reflects what many at the Santiago Bernabéu already believe: Rodri could be the long-term successor to Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, who are both in the final stretch of their legendary careers.
Rodri on Madrid’s Radar
Club president Florentino Pérez and coach Xabi Alonso are both admirers of Rodri’s profile, seeing him as the ideal pivot to strengthen Madrid’s midfield. The Merengues have been tracking the 28-year-old since last season, but luring him from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City remains a difficult task.
Rodri is a cornerstone of City’s tactical system, and the English champions have no plans to sell. Still, Madrid’s board hopes that the Spaniard’s childhood dream of playing for his beloved club could one day tip the scales.
Transfer Still a Future Objective
With the current transfer window already closed, Rodri will not be moving in the short term. However, Real Madrid continues to prepare for the future, with plans to make a push in upcoming windows if the opportunity arises.
Other Midfield Options on the List
Rodri isn’t the only name under consideration. According to reports, Madrid scouts led by Juni Calafat are also evaluating Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool), Vitinha (PSG), and Enzo Fernández (Chelsea).
Each of the three offers a slightly different profile, but all fit into the club’s broader strategy of reshaping its midfield to maintain dominance in Spain and Europe.
