Barcelona thrashes Alhama, Atlético wins comfortably and Real Madrid slips up in their La Liga debut

The 2025/26 Liga F season kicked off this weekend with plenty of action and surprises. Defending champions Barcelona made a powerful statement, Atlético de Madrid impressed, while Real Madrid stumbled in their debut.

Barcelona Prove Why They Are Favorites

Barcelona started their title defense in style with an 8-0 rout of newly promoted Alhama FC.

  • Caroline Graham Hansen (2), Ewa Pajor, Aitana Bonmatí, Ona Battle, and Clàudia Pina (3) were on the scoresheet.
    The victory reinforced Barça’s status as the overwhelming favorites to lift the trophy again.
