Atlético de Madrid beat Real Madrid in Liga F classic with two Brazilian goals

Lauren and Luany shine in Atleti’s 2-1 victory, while Real faces a troubled start to the season.
Brazilians Decide the Classic
Atlético de Madrid struck first in the Liga F derby and left their rivals Real Madrid under pressure early in the season. Playing at home, Atleti won 2-1 with goals from Lauren and Luany, both Brazilians, in the second round of the competition.
The result comes after Real’s unexpected draw in the opening round against Lugoño, sparking a sense of crisis at the start of their campaign.
How the Match Unfolded
Atlético started strongly and opened the scoring in the 17th minute, when Lauren finished well to put the home team ahead. Despite dominating, Atleti failed to extend their lead before halftime.
Real Madrid improved after the break and, even after Signe Bruun’s expulsion, managed to equalize with Sara Däbritz in the 72nd minute.
But Atlético responded quickly. With the team pushing forward, Luany sealed the win in the 83rd minute, after a precise assist from Gabriela Garcia.
