Udinese stun Inter Milan with comeback win at San Siro

Udinese pulled off the upset of Serie A’s third round, defeating Inter Milan 2-1 at the Giuseppe Meazza after overturning an early deficit. Goals from Keinan Davies and Attia sealed a first-half comeback, and the visitors held firm in the second half to secure all three points.

Dumfries strikes first for Inter

Inter began brightly and took the lead in the 16th minute. A scramble inside the box fell to Denzel Dumfries, who smashed home to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage.

But the full-back would soon be at the center of Udinese’s response. In the 29th minute, Bayio’s header struck Dumfries’ arm, and the referee pointed to the spot. Keinan Davies stepped up and coolly converted for 1-1.

Attia’s wonder strike turns the game

The comeback was completed in the 40th minute. Attia collected the ball on the edge of the box and unleashed a stunning left-footed strike past Yann Sommer. Udinese went into halftime 2-1 ahead, silencing San Siro.

Inter dominate second half but fail to score

Simone Inzaghi’s side threw everything forward after the break. Federico Dimarco briefly thought he had equalized, only for VAR to rule Marcus Thuram offside in the buildup.

The Nerazzurri piled on pressure, forcing multiple saves and blocks in a frantic sequence where they had eight shots in one move. Barella fired over, Thuram headed against the bar, but the equalizer never came.

Udinese, with all men behind the ball, survived wave after wave of attacks to clinch a famous win.
