Real Madrid receives €100 million offer to sell Rodrygo to Tottenham

Brazilian forward loses space under Xabi Alonso and weighs future as World Cup nears
Real Madrid have received an official offer of €100 million from Tottenham Hotspur for Rodrygo Goes, according to reports from Spanish outlet Fichajes. The bid, equivalent to roughly R$641 million, signals serious intent from the London club to secure the Brazilian forward as a marquee signing.
Rodrygo, who has won multiple trophies with Real Madrid, has seen his importance diminish under new head coach Xabi Alonso, fueling speculation over a potential exit during the current transfer window.
Rodrygo Uncertain About Tottenham Move
Despite the magnitude of the offer, Rodrygo is reportedly not convinced about joining Tottenham. While he remains open to a transfer in principle, the Brazilian international does not view Spurs as the ideal destination for the next chapter of his career.
Staying at Real Madrid is still his preferred option, but with the 2026 World Cup approaching, the 23-year-old is aware that limited playing time could harm his spot in the national team. So far, under Alonso’s tenure, Rodrygo has started fewer matches and seen his role reduced in Madrid’s attacking setup.
Tottenham Rebuilding After Son’s Departure
Tottenham, meanwhile, are in the midst of an attacking overhaul following the departure of Heung-min Son. The South Korean forward, a club legend after 10 years in North London, is set to join Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer.
Rodrygo is seen as a natural fit to fill the void left by Son’s exit, offering pace, flair, and Champions League pedigree to a squad aiming to return to the European elite.
Real Madrid Preparing Further Exits
Real Madrid are also reportedly working on multiple player exits to make room for incoming reinforcements. Alongside Rodrygo, the club is exploring offers for David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, Fran García, Dani Ceballos, and Brahim Díaz, all of whom are deemed surplus to requirements by Xabi Alonso.
With Madrid undergoing a tactical reshuffle and chasing key reinforcements in other areas, the sale of Rodrygo could help fund big-name arrivals but the final decision will likely hinge on the player’s willingness to leave and the competitiveness of the club he joins.
