Manchester City receives information from Everton to loan Grealish and that they will pay part of his salary

Manchester City have received an official approach from Everton to sign Jack Grealish on loan, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The 29-year-old winger is reportedly not in Pep Guardiola’s immediate plans for the upcoming season, prompting discussions of a temporary move.

Everton Propose Loan Deal, Willing to Cover Wages

Everton’s proposal includes a straight loan without any option to buy, and the club is willing to pay part of Grealish’s salary, Romano reports. While talks remain in the early stages, the move signals Everton’s intent to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Tottenham Also Monitoring Situation

Interest in Grealish isn’t limited to Everton. Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly tracking the England international, especially after James Maddison suffered a recent injury that could sideline him at the start of the season. Grealish’s experience and versatility make him an attractive short-term solution for Spurs.

Underwhelming Season at Manchester City

Grealish struggled to cement a starting role last season, featuring in 32 matches but starting only 16. He recorded three goals and five assists—a return that has raised questions about his long-term future at the Etihad.

Contract and Market Value

According to Transfermarkt, Grealish is currently valued at €28 million (~R$178 million) and remains under contract with Manchester City until June 2027. However, with limited opportunities expected this season, both the player and the club appear open to exploring alternatives.

Other Departures Expected at City

Grealish may not be the only exit from City this summer. The club is also reportedly open to selling James McAtee, Calvin Phillips, and Stefan Ortega, according to The Athletic. These moves indicate a broader squad shake-up as Guardiola prepares for the 2025–26 season.
