Manchester City faces Ederson exit: Galatasaray presses, Al-Nassr enters the fray

Manchester City could soon bid farewell to long-serving goalkeeper Ederson, with multiple clubs eyeing his signature. According to ESPN, the Brazilian shot-stopper has attracted interest from Galatasaray and, more recently, Al-Nassr, as his future at the Etihad Stadium hangs in the balance.

Al-Nassr Makes Ederson a Priority Signing

Saudi giants Al-Nassr have placed Ederson at the top of their wish list. Newly appointed coach Jorge Jesus is pushing for a squad overhaul and views the Brazilian as the ideal replacement for Bento, whose recent performances have been heavily criticized — particularly after the team’s Saudi Super Cup final defeat.

Internal discussions have already begun at Al-Nassr, but the Saudi club faces stiff competition to close a deal.

Galatasaray Increases Offer

Galatasaray has been pursuing Ederson for weeks and recently raised its bid to €15 million (R$94 million) in hopes of beating Al-Nassr to the signing. However, no agreement has been finalized yet, leaving the race for the 31-year-old open.

Meanwhile, despite excitement among some Flamengo supporters about a potential return to Brazil, journalist Jorge Nicola reports there is no chance of Ederson joining Flamengo this window.

Why Jorge Jesus Wants Ederson

Al-Nassr’s coach sees Ederson’s European experience and elite-level consistency as key to solidifying the team’s defense. With Cristiano Ronaldo leading the attack, the club wants a goalkeeper capable of delivering world-class performances in high-pressure matches.

The move would also free space for Bento’s departure, signaling a major rebuild under Jorge Jesus.

Manchester City’s Replacement Plan: Donnarumma on the Radar

If Ederson leaves, Manchester City is already preparing a replacement strategy. The Premier League champions have opened talks with PSG for Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Reports suggest City already has a verbal agreement with the Italian goalkeeper and is waiting to reach a consensus with PSG in the coming days. The progress of these negotiations may accelerate Ederson’s exit.
