Manchester City considers move for Lookman after player’s split with Atalanta

Manchester City is considering a move for Ademola Lookman, who has officially asked to leave Atalanta after a fallout with the Italian club. The Nigerian forward, who scored 20 goals last season, has deleted all references to Atalanta on social media and is currently training in isolation.
Arsenal and Chelsea Also Monitoring
City’s interest adds further competition in the Premier League, as Arsenal and Chelsea have tracked Lookman since his RB Leipzig days. Both London clubs remain attentive to developments while waiting to see if Atalanta lowers its demands.
Inter Milan Deal Collapsed
Lookman appeared set for Inter Milan, with a contract until 2030 already agreed. However, Atalanta rejected Inter’s €42 million plus bonuses bid, insisting on first securing Rodrigo Muniz from Fulham — a deal that never materialized.
Following the failed move, Lookman skipped training for two weeks, was sanctioned by the club, and further strained relations with management.
Atalanta’s Price Tag
The Serie A side is asking around £45 million (€53m) for the 26-year-old. With the transfer window closing on August 31, pressure is building as the standoff deepens.
City’s Opportunity in Final Days
Pep Guardiola’s squad is monitoring the situation closely. While no official offer has been made, Manchester City could swoop in during the final days of the window, especially given Lookman’s desire to leave Serie A and return to England.
