Manchester City and Tottenham in talks over Savinho transfer; Brazilian striker open to transfer

Manchester City may be about to lose promising Brazilian striker Savinho during the current European summer transfer window. Tottenham Hotspur have identified the 20-year-old as a potential replacement for Son Heung-min, who recently completed a move to Los Angeles FC.
According to renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, City and Spurs have been in negotiations for some time, with talks progressing positively. Savinho has reportedly given the green light to join the north London side if the two clubs can agree on a deal, signaling that he will not push to remain under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.
For Savinho, the chance to play regularly in the Premier League and become a key figure in Tottenham’s attack is appealing. While he remains happy at City, he sees Spurs as another Big Six opportunity to further his career.
Sale Could Fund Manchester City’s Cole Palmer Bid
The possible transfer of Savinho could be part of a bigger plan for Manchester City. Spanish outlet Fichajes recently revealed that the club is prepared to spend €250 million (R$1.5 billion) to bring Cole Palmer back from Chelsea a move that would break the all-time transfer record, surpassing Neymar’s 2017 move to PSG.
However, to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, City may need to sell five players before making such a huge bid. The sale of Savinho could be the first major step toward raising the required funds.
Savinho’s Market Value and Stats
Savinho is under contract with Manchester City until June 2029 and is currently valued at €50 million (R$316.4 million) by Transfermarkt. The Premier League champions are expected to demand a higher fee if Spurs push for a deal.
In his debut season with the Sky Blues, Savinho featured in 48 matches, scoring three goals and providing eight assists, contributing to 11 goal involvements across all competitions.
