Chelsea have submitted a new offer for Fermín López, raising the bid to €65 million (R$410M), according to Sport. The Spanish midfielder is one of Enzo Maresca’s top targets to strengthen his midfield.
Barcelona reluctant, but tempted
Initially, Barcelona had no plans to sell Fermín, as he is considered key by Hansi Flick. However, the club’s financial difficulties mean that such a high-value offer is being seriously considered. Even so, Barça want at least €70 million (R$441M) to release the 20-year-old.
Why Chelsea want Fermín
The Spaniard is seen as the solution to Chelsea’s midfield problems. His versatility, pressing ability, and intelligence between the lines make him a perfect fit for the Premier League. In addition to his defensive work, Fermín is capable of breaking down compact defenses with his passing and long-range shooting.
Negotiations ongoing
Chelsea’s new bid is closer to Barça’s demands but still short of the asking price. With the window nearing its final stretch, talks could intensify quickly as both clubs look to finalize their squads.
