Chelsea eyes Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho to boost Maresca’s attack

Chelsea have outlined an aggressive transfer strategy to reinforce Enzo Maresca’s squad, prioritizing the signing of Dutch star Xavi Simons while continuing to monitor Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho as a potential late-window addition.

Simons Is Chelsea’s Priority — Deal Nearing Completion

According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Xavi Simons is currently the main target for Chelsea’s front office. The Blues have made significant progress in negotiations with RB Leipzig, where the attacking midfielder spent last season on loan. A personal agreement with the player is already in place, with the club now waiting for Leipzig’s final approval to seal the deal.

Internally, there’s growing confidence that Simons one of the Bundesliga’s most dynamic young talents will be officially unveiled in the coming days. The 21-year-old is seen as a cornerstone of Maresca’s offensive rebuild at Stamford Bridge.

Garnacho on Standby as Blues Monitor Late-Window Opportunity

While the Simons deal is in motion, Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Alejandro Garnacho, who remains a long-standing target for the club. The Argentine winger’s situation at Manchester United is being watched closely, though no formal bid has been made.

The Blues view Garnacho as a potential opportunistic signing should circumstances change before the end of the transfer window. Despite his importance to United, Chelsea are prepared to act quickly if a window opens, but are not rushing negotiations.

Importantly, club sources insist that Simons and Garnacho are not mutually exclusive targets. Chelsea believe both players offer unique attributes and could comfortably coexist within Maresca’s evolving system.
