Bruno Fernandes reaches agreement with Al-Ittihad and could become Cristiano Ronaldo’s rival in Saudi Arabia

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has reportedly reached an agreement with Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad, opening the door for a sensational move that would pit him against Portugal teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Transfer Talks Advance
According to journalist Konstantinos from The Sun, a meeting between Fernandes and Al-Ittihad representatives has already taken place, with the midfielder expressing enthusiasm about a potential transfer. The Saudi side, home to stars such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, and Fabinho, views Fernandes as the centerpiece of their new project.
If the deal goes through, Fernandes would join the growing list of European stars heading to the Middle East and face his close friend Ronaldo, who leads Al-Nassr under coach Jorge Jesus.
Manchester United’s Stance
Despite Fernandes’ openness to the move, Manchester United are expected to resist any attempts to lure him away. The Portuguese international remains the club’s most influential player and leader under new manager Rúben Amorim.
Fernandes is tied to Old Trafford until June 2027, with a current market valuation of around €50 million. Letting him go could be disastrous for United, given his record of 98 goals and 86 assists across 291 matches since joining in 2020.
More Portuguese Talent on the Way
Al-Ittihad’s interest in Portuguese players doesn’t stop with Fernandes. Rising Porto star Rodrigo Mora, just 18 years old, has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the club. The teenager had been monitored by Real Madrid and PSG but now looks set to continue his career in Saudi Arabia, pending final negotiations.
