Barcelona rules out signing and bets on 17-year-old Dro Fernández as Fermín López’s replacement

Barcelona has decided not to look for reinforcements in the transfer market and will promote La Masia gem Dro Fernández, 17, as the natural replacement for Fermín López, who is close to leaving for Chelsea.

Fermín López, 22, is being targeted by Chelsea, who have submitted a €65 million (R$410M) offer for the midfielder. With the deal advancing, Barcelona has already chosen his replacement.
According to journalist Ferran Martínez and BarçaTimes, the Catalan club has completely ruled out new signings and will rely on academy product Dro Fernández to reinforce coach Hansi Flick’s midfield.
Dro has a contract until June 2027 and is set to earn minutes with the first team this season.
