Barcelona ignores Hansi Flick’s request and prepares to sell Marc Casadó amid €30 million offers

Blaugrana board prioritizes finances over coach’s plans as English and Spanish clubs push for signing
Barcelona is prepared to sell Marc Casadó despite coach Hansi Flick’s explicit request to keep the young midfielder. The club, under financial pressure, views the 21-year-old as one of the most marketable assets in its squad, with multiple offers already on the table.
Financial Needs Take Priority
According to journalist Santi Ovalle (Cadena SER), Barcelona expects to cash in around €30 million for Casadó before the transfer window closes. The decision comes as part of the club’s strategy to secure at least one major sale this summer to stabilize finances, even if it means going against Flick’s wishes.
Offers Already Received
Barcelona has reportedly received three proposals, with Wolverhampton Wanderers from the Premier League and Real Betis among the clubs most interested in the midfielder. Negotiations are ongoing, but the deal is complicated by the player’s own stance.
Casadó Insists on Staying
Despite interest from abroad, Casadó is determined to remain at Camp Nou. The La Masia graduate recently shared a childhood photo in a Barcelona shirt on social media, seen as a symbolic message of loyalty. He has also made it clear that he is willing to accept a secondary role this season in order to continue developing under Flick.
Deco Sides With the Player
Sporting director Deco is reportedly in favor of Casadó’s continuity, believing the midfielder still has significant potential to become a key figure for Barcelona. Last season, Casadó featured in 36 matches, contributing one goal and six assists, proving his growing importance in the squad.
