Barcelona could lose out on signing Pavard from Inter Milan to Galatasaray

Benjamin Pavard, out of Inter Milan’s plans, has been offered to Barcelona but Turkish champions Galatasaray are moving quickly to secure his signing.
Pavard offered to Barcelona but Galatasaray push harder
Barcelona remain attentive to opportunities in the transfer market, and French defender Benjamin Pavard recently emerged as an option for Hansi Flick’s squad. The 2018 World Cup champion has fallen out of favor at Inter Milan, where new coach Cristian Chivu no longer counts on him.
According to Spanish media, Pavard was offered to Barça in recent days. However, the Catalan club risks missing out, as Galatasaray have already made the player a priority target for the remainder of the transfer window, as reported by Fanatik in Turkey.
French star wants to stay in Europe
Pavard has rejected approaches from Saudi Arabian clubs, preferring to continue his career in European football. This increases the chances of Galatasaray stepping ahead of Barcelona, who have not yet decided whether to move for the versatile defender.
Career in Germany and Italy
Formed at Lille, Pavard made his name in Germany, first at Stuttgart and later at Bayern Munich, where he spent four seasons and won multiple titles. He joined Inter in 2023 and last season played 38 matches, contributing one goal and one assist under Simone Inzaghi.
Since Inzaghi’s departure to Al-Hilal and Chivu’s arrival at Inter, Pavard has lost space in the squad. Although his contract runs until 2028, his departure is now considered likely.
Barcelona’s priority remains Bastoni
While Pavard is an interesting option given his ability to play both as a centre-back and right-back, Barcelona’s main target at Inter is still Alessandro Bastoni, who is also attracting interest from Chelsea. Securing him, however, would be a far more complicated negotiation.
