Barcelona could lose Marc Casadó to Olympique de Marseille, who are looking for a replacement for Adrien Rabiot

Barcelona could lose promising midfielder Marc Casadó this transfer window, with Olympique de Marseille preparing a move as they seek a replacement for Adrien Rabiot.

Marseille target Casadó after Rabiot’s fallout

According to Sport, OM manager Roberto De Zerbi has identified Marc Casadó, 21, as the ideal addition to his midfield. The French club is expected to open talks with Barcelona in the coming days.

The interest comes after Adrien Rabiot was placed on the transfer list following a heated dressing-room clash with Jonathan Rowe. His departure forced Marseille to accelerate their search for a new central midfielder, with Casadó emerging as a primary target.

Barcelona’s financial dilemma

Although coach Hansi Flick values Casadó as a key squad player, Barcelona’s financial constraints could force a sale. According to La Cadena SER’s Santi Ovalle, the club would consider offers of around €30 million to strengthen its cash flow, even at the cost of losing a talented homegrown midfielder.

Premier League clubs also in the race

Casadó’s future may not be limited to Ligue 1. Several Premier League clubs have been monitoring his situation closely. Among them, Chelsea stand out, with Fichajes reporting the Blues could go as high as €50 million a figure that would far exceed Marseille’s potential bid.
