Atlético Madrid willing to sell Antoine Griezmann amid interest from Monterrey

Atlético Madrid is prepared to part ways with veteran striker Antoine Griezmann, as Mexican club Monterrey emerges as a potential destination.

The 34-year-old French forward, once a club icon, is no longer in his prime but still delivered solid numbers last season, scoring 17 goals and providing nine assists in 56 appearances. Despite this, Atlético is looking to refresh their squad following recent signings like Thiago Almada and Álex Baena.

Monterrey is reportedly ready to offer Griezmann a lucrative contract, joining other notable signings such as Sergio Ramos and Sergio Canales. However, negotiations with Atlético Madrid will be necessary, as Griezmann’s contract runs until June 2027.

Atlético values the striker at a minimum of €20 million (approx. R$126 million), which would make him Monterrey’s most expensive signing if the deal goes through. Sources suggest that Griezmann himself is open to the move, having already set his price.
