English club includes buyback clause and future sale percentage as Madrid evaluates offer following Club World Cup

Real Madrid forward Gonzalo García has received a formal transfer offer from English club Sunderland, who have recently returned to the Premier League. The proposal, valued at €30 million (approximately R$190 million), includes a 25% resale clause and a €40 million buyback option in favor of the Spanish club.

According to information published by the website Fichajes, the offer is being analyzed by the Merengue board and could be accepted, especially as Real Madrid continues to shape its squad under new head coach Xabi Alonso.

Performance at the Club World Cup Increases García’s Market Value

Gonzalo García’s standout performances in the FIFA Club World Cup have drawn international attention. The 21-year-old striker scored four goals in four matches, boosting his status within the squad and increasing interest from European clubs, including Juventus.

However, Sunderland have taken the lead in negotiations by offering favorable terms, including:

  • An initial fee of €30 million
  • A 25% share in future transfer profits
  • A buyback option allowing Real Madrid to re-sign the player for €40 million

The structure appeals to Madrid, as it provides both immediate revenue and long-term flexibility.

Endrick Could Benefit from García’s Departure

The potential sale of García could benefit Brazilian striker Endrick, who is seen as a long-term asset for the club. Though García has made a strong case for more playing time, club officials reportedly view Endrick as a more strategic project.

With Kylian Mbappé expected to lead the Madrid attack, the backup striker role remains highly competitive. García’s departure would clear the path for Endrick to become Mbappé’s primary substitute, at least initially.

Real Madrid maintains no interest in a permanent sale of Endrick, considering only a possible loan if needed for development. This contrasts with the board’s openness to selling García, provided the buyback option remains in place.

Real Madrid Still Undecided

At this stage, no final decision has been made. The club’s technical staff is expected to evaluate the offer in detail after the conclusion of the Club World Cup. The transfer could be finalized during the upcoming window, depending on Real Madrid’s summer planning and Endrick’s progress in training.

The move aligns with the club’s broader strategy of developing young talent while maintaining flexibility through buyback clauses a model successfully used with players like Dani Carvajal and Álvaro Morata in the past.
