Real Madrid are considering selling Vini Jr. and Rodrygo could fulfill his dream if the deal goes through

Real Madrid is evaluating the future of its Brazilian attacking duo, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, as both players draw increasing interest in the transfer market. Internal discussions are ongoing, with one of the two stars potentially departing this summer.

Vini Jr. targeted by Saudi clubs amid salary dispute

Vinicius Junior has emerged as a top target for clubs in Saudi Arabia, with reports indicating that one unnamed club is willing to make him the highest-paid player in world football. However, a standoff over salary expectations has delayed any possible exit.

The 24-year-old reportedly seeks parity with Kylian Mbappé’s wages, a demand Real Madrid is currently unwilling to meet. Contract renewal talks have stalled, and although the club still values Vini highly, his future remains uncertain. Negotiations are expected to resume after the player returns from vacation.

Rodrygo eyes Liverpool move but remains loyal to Madrid

Meanwhile, Rodrygo Goes has instructed his agent to explore options with Liverpool, suggesting the player is open to a move if the right opportunity arises. Though he is under contract at the Bernabéu until 2028, Rodrygo’s preference to play on the left wing currently occupied by Vinicius could influence his decision if Vini stays.

Despite the ongoing speculation, sources close to the player suggest Rodrygo remains committed to working under new manager Xabi Alonso, and still dreams of long-term success with Los Blancos.

Only one may stay — or both could remain

Club sources indicate that Real Madrid is unlikely to sell both players in the same window, especially with a demanding 2025/26 season ahead. However, the board understands that keeping both Brazilians happy especially given their preferred positions will require difficult decisions.

Rodrygo could benefit positionally if Vinicius leaves, gaining more time on the left wing. However, if the club renews Vini Jr. on improved terms, Rodrygo may consider a permanent move to the Premier League.
